ICBC Transactions by Phone and Email

Uncategorized

ICBC has implemented a continuity plan to allow business to continue in the extraordinary circumstances caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. We are temporarily offering ICBC transactions by phone & email. This page will outline what transactions we can perform and which ones are unavailable.

ICBC is updating these guidelines as time permits. Please check back for updates as different transactions may become possible at a later date.

Due to COVID-19 social distancing requirements, not all of our offices are able to help our customers in-person inside the office. As different staff members have different health and safety concerns, please call our office before heading in to see if a walk-in transaction is available.

The Following ICBC Transactions are Possible via Phone and email

  • Renewals or Policy Changes paid on payment plan or credit card
  • Temporary Operating Permits paid by credit card
  • Storage Policies paid by credit card
  • Cancellations
  • Changing bank information for an existing payment plan

Requirements:

  • You must be paying with credit card, or enrolled on the payment plan.
  • You must have access to an email account to send and receive email. We must be able to document your consent to send transactions to you electronically. Verbal consent will not be adequate.

Please call one of our locations to discuss this option.

Note: We may be experiencing a higher call volume than usual. If you are unsuccessful in speaking directly with an agent during our normal business hours, please try again later or email our office with your phone number and an agent will get in touch with you as soon as possible.

Transactions our office does not do by phone/email:

  • Vehicle registrations or transfers
  • Issue new plates

You can either attend an office to surrender the plate. If you are not able to safely attend an office due to the current pandemic conditions, and have access to a phone AND an email address, we will be able to look at cancelling the policy for you. Please phone or email one of our offices and an agent will get in touch with you shortly.

Our offices are still doing transactions, but are not having clients walk in and out of the office. Sometimes a transaction is possible, just by passing the paperwork through the door. Or, if you have access to an email address and are paying by credit card or monthly installment, we can do the transaction by phone or email. Call or email one of our offices and an agent will get in touch with you shortly.

Hi Jack, please send an email to the office you normally go to. Email addresses can be found here: Contact. In the email, please leave your phone number and state which vehicle you wish to renew.

Then, we will reply with a legal disclaimer and you must reply “I agree”. We’ll then give you a phone call to discuss your coverage and any changes necessary. If you have any questions before sending the first email, please call the office to talk with an agent.

      Thank you!
